This is a post about how I made/resigned the site for Bee Plastic Free – Beeswax Food Wraps.
Reusable, biodegradable, and zero waste, beeswax wraps are a natural alternative to single use plastic food wrapping. Just wash and use again and again. Our wraps are made using only 100% cotton and fragrant natural beeswax from bees that have foraged mainly on forest, wild flowers and gorse blossom.

Sally, who makes the wraps and runs Bee Plastic Free, came to me looking for a simple, one page site, for her Bees Wax Wraps – in addition to her existing Facebook Page.
I suggested using Carrd, which is for making ‘Simple, free, fully responsive one-page sites for pretty much anything’. With their ‘Pro Standard’ option, which is $USD 19 a year, you can add a domain name and things like a contact form. Carrd can be a very economical way of creating a little site! They’ve got a large choice of templates to start from, which you can then customise with your own photos, etc.
Sally was able to add the basics herself, like the text and photos, but asked me to do some designery bits, to get the design just how she wanted, and some of the more techy stuff, like getting the domain connected.
In a few hours, the site was up and running!
I also found that Sally was already using SumUp for her business (for processing cards and things) and as part of her package, they also had a simple web store. So I suggested that she could make use of that for the ordering part – which she was able to do on her own. So we then added a nice big button on the Carrd site to the online store!
So if you’re in the market for a simple site, Carrd might be a good option for you too.
